Have burning questions? Here's some of the things we get asked about the most. From our products and certifications to upcycling, sourcing, and shipping.
Yes, yes, and yes! Our dried fruit is naturally gluten-free because fruit doesn’t come with gluten—simple as that.
Just fruit. Seriously. That’s it. No funny business.
You bet! No dairy here. Just pure fruit goodness, the way nature intended.
You’re in good hands. Our dried fruit is processed in allergen-free facilities that don’t handle the top 9 allergens, so you can snack with peace of mind. No milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, or sesame—just pure fruit love.
Yes! Our products are Kosher Pareve, certified by Central California Kosher. Feel good knowing that every bite is aligned with your values.
Our dried fruit snacks are good for about a year from packaging—but here’s the thing: if it looks good and smells good, it’s probably still good. Store it in a cool, dry place in an airtight container for maximum longevity. Your fruit doesn’t have an expiration date, it just evolves with time.
That’s the beauty of nature! Since we’re all about single-ingredient dried fruit, there may be slight variations in taste and texture. Just like fresh fruit you buy at the farmer’s market, each piece is a little different. And we love that! Nature doesn’t make cookie-cutter fruit, so neither should we. Embrace the variety!
Absolutely. We’re all about keeping things eco-friendly. Our pouches are made with over 50% post-consumer recycled material. And when we ship, we use recyclable cardboard boxes. We encourage you to reuse those boxes and keep the sustainability rolling!
Certified Organic means we’re committed to growing food that’s better for you and the planet.
Our dried fruit is grown and processed according to the USDA’s National Organic Program standards. This means no synthetic chemicals, no GMOs—just pure, natural goodness. Every year, we undergo an audit to ensure that we’re in full compliance with these standards, and so do the farmers who grow the fresh fruit that ends up in every Earth Wake bag.
The USDA’s National Organic Program regulates a broad range of practices—everything from soil quality and seed sourcing to pest management and processing. To earn that USDA Organic seal, we’ve got to follow strict guidelines. No GMOs, no synthetic pesticides, no sewage sludge, and no irradiation. Plus, organic produce must come from organic seeds, and the soil must be free of prohibited substances for at least three years.
But let’s get real for a second—Certified Organic, while a good start, has been greenwashed. There are big players out there using the label without truly committing to sustainable, holistic practices. That’s where we come in. We believe in radical transparency. The only way to really know your food is to know your farmer. And that’s why we don’t stop at certified organic. We’re
taking it further with regenerative farming practices in our orchards that go beyond organic standards to actively restore the land and support biodiversity.
While Certified Organic ensures that we’re avoiding harmful chemicals and GMOs, regenerative farming goes a step further. It’s about restoring and rebuilding the health of the soil, not just avoiding harm. Regenerative practices include things like planting cover crops, supporting biodiversity, and nurturing the land in a way that creates a thriving, resilient ecosystem.
The difference? Organic is about sustainability—doing less harm than we
historically have. Regenerative is about improvement—actively making things better. Regenerative farming works with nature to rebuild and replenish, rather than just maintaining the status quo. That’s why we believe regenerative practices are the future of food.
For us, regenerative goes beyond our farming practices and has become a
mindset. We can all participate in regenerative practices.
Great question! Organic certification and Non-GMO Verified are both important, but they focus on different aspects of how food is grown.
Here’s a quick breakdown to help you see the difference:
At Earth Wake, upcycling means taking fruits that didn’t meet the “perfect” standards for fresh markets and turning them into delicious, nutritious snacks you can feel good about.
Upcycling is the art of taking something that might otherwise go to waste and turning it into something new, valuable, and useful. It’s about giving food a second life—one that reduces waste and helps us make the most out of what we’ve got.
Because waste is a problem we all need to tackle together. Upcycling allows us to reduce the strain on landfills, cut down on unnecessary food waste, and create products that make a positive impact on the environment.
Here’s the deal: if we don’t buy these “imperfect” fruits, they may be purchased by another like-minded upcycler; but if not, they’ll end up as livestock feed—or worse—straight in the landfill.
This is where we come in. By purchasing and transforming this surplus fruit into high quality dried snacks, we’re playing a key role in reducing food waste.
It’s not just us—many companies are doing the same, turning surplus or imperfect fruits into juices, jams, baked goods, sauces, and even baby food. So if you've ever bought a fruit-based product and wondered where it came from, there’s a good chance it wasn’t the picture-perfect fruit that would’ve been sold fresh in stores.
We believe in being as transparent as possible about where our food comes from because, let’s face it, you deserve to know where your snacks come from. Here’s the scoop:
From farm to package, we’re all about supporting great farmers and being fully transparent.
We get it—you're excited to enjoy some seriously tasty fruit. If you order before 10 AM PST, we’ll aim to ship it out the same day (Monday–Friday), as long as we’ve got everything in stock. Orders placed on weekends or holidays may take up to 3 business days to process. Our fulfillment center is just a stone's throw from our French Plum Orchard in sunny California, so shipping to most spots in the U.S. takes about 3-7 business days. (Alaska and Hawaii might take a little longer—up to 11 days.)
Things like shipping delays, order changes, or weather can sometimes cause a hiccup, but if you need your snacks ASAP, hit us up at info@earthwakefoods.com or give us a call at 1-855-888-8482. We’ve got your back.
